Have you ever felt like you weren’t ready for something unfamiliar? Has God asked you to step out and trust Him and it felt very unsure? God is asking us as a church to do that very thing. He wants us to anticipate a future and work in us in four different areas: our transformation, our worship, our vision, and our mission. He wants to transform us to be holy and wholly His. He wants our worship to be for His glory in all we do. He can give us a vision to reveal His power. He will lead us to our mission. But that means He will call us into new places, into unfamiliar territory. That’s what He asked the Israelites to do when they were near the land of ‘milk and honey’. But so many were afraid, except for two who trusted Him completely: Caleb and Joshua. God’s heart was broken when the others did not trust Him as they only focused on their fear. Are we ready to be Caleb and Joshua? He promises us His Spirit when we walk into unfamiliar territory.
The Lord is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished.”
