God’s words began it all. God speaks creation from nothing. His spoken word had and still have power. It’s His technology. And He continues to make new creations in us. The apostle John spoke of this when he writes “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God.”  Jesus is the Word. His person was the true beginning.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made

John 1:1-3

All through scripture God’s Words declare His power and are how He gets things done, how He empowers His people, how He defeats the Enemy, how He sustains all life. Faith comes by hearing the Word of Christ. Those who speak the good news, the blessings of God are speaking hope and the power of the Holy Spirit to others. God has chosen to us His people to speak His words to do His work. His words can sanctify, change our human behavior. Jesus spoke this prayer to His Father before He went to the cross:

I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.

John 17:13-17

It is God speaking through us speaking His words to bring His Word about in the world. “Your will be done.”  Jesus’ dynamic relationship with His Father can be ours as well. That’s why knowing God’s Word, the Bible is vital for this to happen. Prayer is partnering with our Father God. This is our spiritual technology.
