The last days on earth for Jesus and His disciples were all about Jesus teaching them to be ready for living without Him. He promised them power and the companionship of the Holy Spirit. But…His assurance for them was all about prayer. In many circumstances right before Jesus was taken away, He told them He was praying for them. Jesus’ model of praying for them showed His trust and confidence in the power of prayer. He knew that the Father would answer. He prays for us. That our faith will not fail. That He will do a further work in us. Jesus knows…God is up to something when we pray.
