A Perfect Model for Prayer

II Chronicles 20:4-12 A prayer to prepare for an unspeakable battle.  This prayer was bold. This prayer was crystal clear what is being said. This prayer was all about Who God is and what He can do. This is a great example of how to pray to the Almighty God. First, recognize and focus on the attributes of God, particularly the attribute that fits the need. Recall, acknowledge what God has done. What past action gives evidence that God is able. Then confront any fault. Do a heart check and own any problem that we face. In other words, enter the prayer with a spirit of repentance. And then be honest that we are at a loss of what to do or that we have no power to solve the problem on our own. Pray the situation, NOT the solution. And…then see what the Lord will do. Then stand before Him and listen. Care enough to risk.

This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.

II Chronicles 20:15

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
