Love God, Love People, Change the World

A Disciple’s Resume

(message begins 26:10, Luke 6:17-26)

What matters most to our Lord is who we are in the world among people. He calls His followers to live a life that is counter to what the world sees as worthy. Asking God for what you lack and being in need of His mercy; trusting that it is God who satisfies your hunger, embracing the power of healing through grieving, and standing firm when you are rejected because you love Christ–all these are on your resume.

But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, they never stop producing fruit.

Jeremiah 17:7-8
