Jennifer (known to Hillsiders as Jen) attended Palm Beach Atlantic University, a Christian Liberal Arts University in southern Florida. She studied Christian Leadership and Communication there. She says, “I grew up very blessed in south Florida, but during college I felt the desire for deeper excitement. At that time I felt a calling and desire to invest my life in opportunities where God could use my talents. I needed a spiritual challenge.”
In the spring of 2009 Jennifer spent four months living at the Contemporary Music Center developing her skills in songwriting, performing, and recording. She gained much experience at this invitation-only community on the island of Martha’s Vineyard. One of her recorded songs, ‘Be the One’, has been featured on a compilation CD. In August 2009 Jen searched for more opportunities to share her music and her love for Christ in the Chicagoland area. She then began to work towards an M.A. in Communication and Culture at Trinity International University and received her M.A. in 2010. She has led worship at Harvest Bible Chapel and conferences as well as performed at concerts at various churches and youth events before becoming the worship director here at Hillside in early 2012. Jen enjoys performing with her husband, Eddie Be.
