Colossians 1:9-14 “For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves.” Our behaviors, our thinking, our will, and our heart are all part of our defense against Satan’s tactics. Often the way we respond can help us determine if our struggles, our sufferings, and our challenges are attacks of the Enemy.
The Enemy’s other targets are the will and our conscience/our heart. The weapon against our will is our pride–our own intelligence, our own abilities, our own points of view are better than those of God Almighty. When we decide, act obey and love these are actions of the Will. Our defense? Being connected to the Holy Spirit; having an attitude that puts God our Father first. We listen to God’s voice, to the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and obey that voice rather than our own.
The weapon against our conscience…against our heart is questioning, confusion, worldly sorrow, but most importantly GUILT. Satan wants us to quit. He accuses us to the horrible place of shame. What is our defense against such hate? Trust!
