I Corinthians 14:13 “What should you do then, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each person has a vital role because each has gifts. One person might have a song, another a lesson to teach, still another a revelation from God. One person might speak in an unknown language, another will offer the interpretation, but all of this should be done to strengthen the life and faith of the community.”
Paul is exhorting this church to seek order and unity during worship, not chaos. Why? To help believers grow in their faith. If a gift is used, it must be used to unify and clarify. How will we know? Believers will be edified. The church will be built up. He did not ban the gift of Tongues, but cautioned against how it is used. So what more can we learn from Paul about the gift of Tongues?
What is our challenge in today’s worship? Might it be too much order and not seeking the movement of the Holy Spirit? Invite the Spirit into your worship – corporately and privately.
